How big is the delivery?

See below, our firewood is tipped on delivery and equals approximately 1.6 m³ of loosely stacked logs.

Hardwood vs Softwood Firewood

Both hardwood and softwood make excellent firewood when properly dried, the main difference is how they burn.

Hardwood Logs

Burn for longer and produce a steady, consistent heat.

Ideal for long winter evenings or overnight burning!

Softwood Logs

Ignite quickly and burn hotter.

Perfect for lighting fires or when you want heat more quickly!

------------

Whichever you choose, the most important factor is that the wood is properly dried. Dry logs burn more efficiently, produce more heat, and create less smoke than wet wood.

🔥 Ready to Burn — Guaranteed!

The 'Dry Guarantee'!

We make it our fundamental aim to  never supply 'wet' wood and work hard to ensure that our kiln-dried firewood will exceed your expectations!

We are so confident in the standard of our firewood that we always offer our 'Dry Guarantee'with all our deliveries!! We will supply dry/seasoned wood but will replace your order, at the time of delivery, should we ever fail to keep this promise.

However, it is important to note that when we talk about 'wet' wood, we aren't talking about wet to touch, but we are actually talking about the total amount of water stored in the wood. This is important, because a dry piece of wood that has rain water on the surface, is far superior to wet wood that appears to be dry on the surface.  'Wet' wood is classed as anything above 25% water content, however we test all logs before delivery and we regularly fall well below this number!

Burning and buying 'wet' wood causes numerous problems:

01

Heat & Efficiency

The wetter the wood is, the more the heating potential of the wood is used warming up the water inside the wood to turn it into steam.

Most of this steam then goes out your chimney without you ever feeling the benefit.

02

Environmental Damage

By burning wet wood, you will notice that it will blacken your stove far worse than when burning dry.

Imagine what that is doing to the environment! Dry wood creates considerably less smoke, keeping the climate cleaner, as well as your fireplace.

03

Safety

Wet wood will create a tar-like substance that will stick to the inside of your chimney and creates a serious risk of a chimney fire!

04

Less Firewood

When wood is dried, it shrinks, this means that by buying wet wood you actually get less, because each cubic meter is filled with swollen wood.
